World Poker Tour heading to Australia for WPT Championship Event

The festival kicks off September 18 and will run through October 1.

The two-week event will culminate with a $5,500 AUD buy-in WPT Championship event taking place September 27-October 1.

WPT CEO Adam Pliska said: "There is something truly special about the passion and energy of the Australian poker community,.

This will be the first WPT Championship event held at renowned The Star Sydney and the first WPT stop at the location since WPTDeepstacks Sydney in 2022 where Mark Fester earned a career best score of $413,006.

With an expanded schedule and the arrival of a WPT Championship event for the first time, WPT at The Star Sydney promises to be one of the most anticipated poker events of the year.
