The prestige of the World Poker Tour is returning to Australia, and this time, the stakes are higher than ever. Slated to run from September 10 to September 30, the WPT Australia 2026 festival is touching down at The Star Sydney for a massive 21-day poker extravaganza. 

Marking a historic first for the country, the tour is rolling out a dual-championship format, giving the local poker community two distinct, massive tournaments to chase. With a packed schedule of side events and global livestreams locked in, Sydney is officially the place to be this September.

The festival's first major peak arrives with the AUD $1,500 WPT Prime Australia Championship, scheduled from September 17 through September 22. This mid-tier buy-in historically draws massive crowds, building huge prize pools while maintaining an elite, deep-stack structure. 

For the heavyweights, the AUD $5,000 WPT Australia Championship closes out the festival from September 24 to 30. Both events will feature globally broadcasted final tables, ensuring the winners receive the ultimate exposure alongside their massive payouts.
