World Poker Tour WPT Playground Festival

Six months after successfully hosting WPT Montreal at Playground, the World Poker Tour is to return to the renowned Kahnawake poker club for another Season XXII championship festival - WPT Playground.

WPT Playground will run October 14-30 and is headlined by the $3,500 CAD buy-in WPT Playground Championship event.

The WPT Playground Championship will have the largest prize pool guarantee of the festival at a cool $1,500,000 (CAD).

"It was such a pleasure hosting a WPT Championship festival at Playground back in May, that we embraced the idea of returning for a second 2024 showing," said WPT CEO Adam Pliska.

"Players will once again have a chance at three different WPT titles, including the most prestigious honor of being immortalized on the Mike Sexton WPT Champions Cup."

The WPT Prime Cup will also be in attendance at WPT Playground.

The CAD $1,150 buy-in WPT Prime Playground Championship event will play out on October 20-25 and comes with a CAD $800,000 guarantee.

WPT Prime Montreal, in May, drew nearly 1,300 entrants and saw Jikai Zhang earn a first-place prize of CAD $165,070.

"I am thrilled to announce our excitement for the upcoming WPT Playground event this October,” said Playground’s Vice President of Gaming Operations Ryan Bevens.

"Playground has always been a place where history is made with the WPT, and we are eager to continue this tradition as we welcome back the World Poker Tour."

WPT Playground will also feature the WPT 500 Championship (CAD $400,000 guarantee), with the event taking place at the start of the festival with six-consecutive starting flights (October 14-19) and reaching its conclusion on October 21.

WPT Global, the official online poker website of the World Poker Tour, will play a large role in the festival by running an online Day 1 for the WPT 500 and WPT Prime Playground events that will qualify players for a Day 2 berth to the live arena.
