Six Weeks of Ring Events Highlight the WPT Asia Series Overdrive Schedule

WPT Global has finalized the details for its WPT Asia Series Overdrive, a six-week campaign kicking off on July 19, 2026. With over ¥200,000,000 in guaranteed prizes on the line, the series aims to capture the attention of tournament players worldwide by offering physical ring trophies, weekly cash races, and daily missions.

The sheer scale of the series makes it one of the largest online poker events of the summer. The primary focus of the schedule revolves around the 13 WPT Championship Rings that will be awarded to event winners.

Seven of these rings are reserved for the weekly Sunday Overdrive tournaments, which feature buy-ins ranging from ¥188 up to ¥880 for the Grand Prix Main Event. The other six rings will be distributed through Mystery Phase Championships. These phased events offer dozens of starting flights throughout the week, allowing players to build up their chip stacks for as little as ¥55 before moving on to the Day 2 finals

The most lucrative promotional element of the series is the Triple Ring Challenge, which rewards players who can win multiple major titles. Any player who wins three WPT Championship Rings across one or multiple WPT Asia Series stops will instantly receive a cash bonus of ¥3,000,000 directly to their account.

This promotion is open-ended, meaning there is no limit to how many players can claim the ¥3,000,000 payout. To help players reach this milestone, WPT Global is counting rings won in past stops, such as the WPT Asia Series from February 2026—toward the required three-ring total.

To incentivize consistent play, WPT Global is running a ¥2,000,000 leaderboard promotion split into six separate weekly races. Instead of only rewarding high-stakes winners, the point-scoring system has been designed to give all players a realistic shot at climbing the rankings.

The formula tracks three core areas: standard finishing position points (scaled by buy-in size), early bird registration points (awarded to players who buy in before the tournament starts, capped at 30 points daily), and bubble points (which offer consolation points to players who are eliminated right before the money).
